Woodlawn Heights: Search for Man following Robbery

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who is sought in connection to a robbery that occurred in Woodlawn Heights.

 

A police spokesperson said the incident took place on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 8.22 p.m. at the corner of Katonah Avenue and East 235th Street, where the unidentified male suspect met a 29-year-old male victim at the location.

“The male expressed interest on Facebook market to purchase the victim’s Apple MacBook,” the spokesperson said. “Upon meeting at the location, the victim showed the suspect the MacBook but the suspect grabbed the item and fled on foot without paying.”

 

The spokesperson said the victim then began to chase the suspect and sustained bruising and scratches after a physical altercation with him in an attempt to regain the item. However, the suspect managed to flee with the property in a dark colored BMW, according to police, who added that the victim was not hospitalized as a result of the incident.
