Williamsbridge: Four Injured, One Seriously, in 6-Story Residential Blaze

Four people were injured, one seriously, in a fire in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, according to the FDNY.

 

Fire department officials said they were alerted to reports of a fire/smoke at 3044 Wallace Avenue at 21.46 p.m. on Friday, June 16.

An FDNY spokesperson said the fire broke out in the basement of the 6-story, occupied multiple dwelling and was brought under control at 10.26 p.m.  The spokesperson said one civilian is in serious condition, two civilians incurred minor injuries, and one firefighter also incurred minor injuries. The spokesperson said all were transferred to Jacobi Medical Center in Morris Park.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.
