The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has advised of the following weekend street and bridge closures in the Bronx from Oct. 15 to Oct. 17.

Tilden Street between Barnes Avenue and Bronxwood Avenue: This street will be closed Friday and Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 9am to 6pm through 11/10/21 to facilitate crane operation.

East 149th Street between Dead End and Exterior Street: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm through 11/8/21 for new building construction access and use.

East 160th Street between Forest Avenue and Tinton Avenue: This street will be closed from 8am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday through 11/2/21 to facilitate crane operation.

Forest Avenue between East 158th Street and East 160th Street: This street will be closed from 8am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday through 11/2/21 to facilitate crane operation.

Villa Avenue between Bedford Park Boulevard and East 204th Street:  This street will be closed Friday from 9am to 6pm through 12/23/21 to facilitate crane operation.

In addition, traffic will be diverted at three MTA crossings on Sunday for the 2021 MS Bike Tour. The tour, permitted by New York City, on Sunday, Oct. 17, will impact motorists who normally use the MTA’s Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Although the race will not result in the closure of any bridge or tunnel, approach roadways to the facilities, as well as several exit and entrance ramps, will be impacted.

Motorists should be aware of the impact and use alternate routes if possible.

RFK Bridge

7 a.m. to 10 a.m.: The northbound FDR Drive and Harlem River Drive will be closed, as will the northbound Harlem River Drive exit ramp from the RFK Bridge. All Manhattan-bound traffic crossing the RFK Bridge will exit onto the southbound FDR Drive or East 125th Street.

Henry Hudson Bridge

7 a.m. to Noon: There will be no access to the southbound Henry Hudson Bridge heading into Manhattan.

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel

6:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: All traffic exiting the tunnel in Manhattan will be detoured northbound onto West Street or through the Trinity Place exit, which will remain open. The Battery Park underpass to the FDR Drive and southbound West Street will be closed.

The independent charity ride will start and end on the west side of Manhattan for a 30-mile route completely traffic-free. Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mymtaalerts.com and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information.

Additional information about weekend street closures, including streets closed to facilitate crane operations, is available on the DOT website at on.nyc.gov/wkndtraf.

Disclaimer: All event dates, times and routes are subject to change at any time. Additional events are scheduled under the direction of the Mayor’s Office and the NYPD and may not appear in this advisory. Street closures are implemented and enforced solely by the NYPD. NYC DOT does not approve nor institute street closures for events.
