Wakefield: MTA Employee Assaulted in Subway Station in Unprovoked Attack

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they said is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Wakefield.

 

Police said that on Thursday, Sept. 28, at around 11.55 a.m. a 53-year-old, on-duty, male MTA worker was working on the 2/5 train line inside the East 238th Street and Nereid Avenue subway station when he was approached by an unidentified male who struck him in the face with a closed fist, and then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction. “The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition,” an NYPD spokesperson said.
