A fire broke out in the Wakefield section of the Bronx on Sunday afternoon, according to the FDNY, in which two people were reported injured.
Fire officials said all hands responded to what was initially categorized as a 2-alarm fire at 4519 Seton Avenue, a private property in the Wakefield section of The Bronx, on Sunday, May 14, at 1.46 p.m. The response comprised 33 fire units and 138 members, according to the FDNY.
An FDNY spokesperson said, “Members were able to determine that the fire was located within a private dwelling at that location. The fire extended to an adjoining structures and a vehicle, necessitating a second alarm response [at 1.53 p.m.].”
The spokesperson added, “The operations were elevated to a third alarm response at 14.05 hours.” The spokesperson continued, saying the blaze resulted in two injuries. “One firefighter was treated on scene, but refused transport. One civilian was transported to Jacobi.”
The spokesperson added that the condition and description of the civilian was unknown.
The fire was placed under control by the FDNY at 3.14 p.m.
