The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached video and photos who department officials say is sought in connection with a robbery in Wakefield.
Police said that on Monday, June 19, at around 3.05 a.m., the victim, a 22-year-old man, was aboard a northbound 2 train approaching the East 225th Street subway station when he was approached by another person unknown to him. They said the assailant sprayed an unidentified substance into the victim’s face and then stole his cell phone.
They said the assailant was last seen exiting the train at the East 225th Street subway station and heading in an unknown direction. “The victim was treated by EMS at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
