Wakefield: Applications Filed with DOB for New 7-Story Residential Building at 633 East 230th Street

Building applications have been filed with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) for a new, 7-story, residential building at 633 East 230th Street in the Wakefield section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.

Located between Carpenter Avenue and White Plains Road, the lot is located two blocks south of the 233rd Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Joel Brody is listed as the owner behind the applications, according to YIMBY.

The proposed 70-foot-tall development will yield 17,034 square feet designated for residential space, and the building will yield 25 residential units, most likely rentals, based on the average unit scope of 681 square feet.

 

The concrete-based structure will also have a 46-foot-long rear yard and 13 open parking spaces.

Lester Katz of DXA Studio is listed as the architect of record. Demolition permits were filed in June 2022 for the previous 2-story residential building on the site. An estimated completion date for the new building has not yet been announced.
