The department  dispatched 12 units, comprising 60 firefighters to the location at 4.07 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The official said the fire was brought under control at 4.51 p.m.

Asked if there were any injuries and if the cause of the blaze was known, the FDNY official said, “No injuries. Under investigation.”

The FDNY is reminding residents that spray caps are available for free from any firehouse. However, opening fire hydrants at full throttle is illegal, wastes water, and may cause a fire hazard.
