Van Nest: Police Search for Man Sought for Groping Woman on Train

THE NYPD IS asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in this photo who they say is wanted in connection with a groping incident that occurred on the subway platform at East 180th Street.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection with a groping incident that occurred at East 180th Street subway station in Van Nest.

 

Police said that on Wednesday, May 1, at around 12.10 p.m., the victim, a 23-year-old woman, was standing on the northbound platform at the East 180th Street subway station, which serves the 5 and the 2 trains, when she was approached by an unknown individual who grabbed her buttocks.

 

“The victim proceeded to board a northbound 2 train and was followed onto the train by the individual,” police said. “At the Allerton Avenue train station, the individual touched the victim’s intimate parts over her clothing before fleeing out of the train.” They added that the victim was physically uninjured following the incident.

 

Police said the person sought is described as male, is around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 250 pounds, has a light complexion, a heavy build, and facial hair. He was seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.
