Van Nest: Man Sought for Slashing 60-Year-Old Woman in Face

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of an unidentified man who was last seen driving in the vehicle seen in the attached photo, and who is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in the 49th precinct. 

 

It was reported to police that on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 at approximately 4.30 p.m., in front of 1243 East Tremont Avenue in the Van Nest section of the Bronx, the victim, a 60-year-old female, was walking along the sidewalk when she was approached from behind by the unidentified man who tapped her on the shoulder.

 

When the victim turned around, the man produced a sharp cutting instrument and, unprovoked, slashed the victim’s face across the forehead and eyes. He did not say anything.

 

The man then fled westbound on East Tremont Avenue in a gray Honda civic with a dent on the passenger side of the front end of the vehicle. The license plate is unknown. EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi for treatment.

 

The man is described as male, approximately 5 foot, 6 inches tall, Black, weighs approximately 160 pounds. His clothing description at the time of the incident is unknown.

 

A photo of the vehicle which was last seen fleeing the incident location is attached.
