Van Nest: Man Sought following Alleged Assault Aboard 5 Train

THE NYPD IS asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred on Monday, Nov. 6, aboard the 5 train as it approached the East 180th Street station in Van Nest.

The NYPD is asking the public’s assistance identifying the whereabouts of the individual depicted in the attached media wanted in connection with an assault that occurred aboard the 5 train in Van Nest.

Police said that on Monday, Nov. 6, at around 4.25 p.m., the victim, a 46-year-old woman, was aboard a northbound 5 train approaching the East 180th Street train station, when she got into a dispute with an a person unknown to her, who proceeded to slap her in the face and drag her to the ground by her hair. They said the assailant later fled on foot out of the East 180th Street subway station and the victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

 

They said the assailant is described as male, is around 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, has a medium complexion, short black hair, and a beard. They said he was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue cargo pants, black construction boots, and was carrying a black lunchbox.
