The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo and video who they say is sought in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Van Cortlandt Village.
They said that on Monday, Aug. 5, at around 2.47 p.m., an unidentified person entered Ridgewood Savings Bank, located at 3899 Sedgwick Avenue in Van Cortlandt Village, and approached a 20-year-old female victim.
They said the suspect passed a note to the victim demanding $20,000 and in the end stole around $478, before fleeing the location. They said he fled on foot, traveling southbound on Sedgwick Avenue and that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
They said the suspect is described as male, has a slim build and a light complexion. They said he was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat, sunglasses, a light blue, button-down shirt, light blue shorts, white sneakers, and was carrying a black, cross body bag.
