On Aug. 25, at 8.46 a.m., pursuant to an ongoing investigation into a non-fatal stabbing incident which took place in the 50th precinct, in the Van Cortlandt Village section of the Bronx in mid-July, Carlos Gonzalez has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
On July 14, 2020 at approximately 7.11 p.m., in front of 3343 Sedgwick Avenue in Van Cortlandt Village, a 21-year-old female victim was walking with her ex-boyfriend, Carlos Gonzalez, 25, of Manhattan, while pushing their infant son in a baby stroller.
A verbal argument ensued at which time Gonzalez allegedly placed the woman in a choke hold, dragged her and the baby, still in the stroller, to the ground and proceeded to stab her multiple times throughout the body before fleeing the location. EMS responded to the location and transported both the victim and the infant to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they were listed as being in a stable condition.
Police had been searching for Gonzalez since the incident occurred.
Gonzalez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
