Building applications have been filed with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) to expand a three-story structure into a five-story, mixed-use building at 3854 Bailey Avenue in the Van Cortlandt Village section of The Bronx, according to YIMBY.

Located between West 238th Street and Van Cortlandt Avenue West, the lot is near the 238th Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train. Yitzi Salamon is listed as the owner behind the applications according to YIMBY.

The proposed 49-foot-tall development will yield 7,196 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 16 residential units, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 449 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a penthouse and two enclosed parking spaces.

Chun Engineering Consultant is listed as the applicant of record. An estimated completion date for the new structure has not yet been announced.

In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts.
