Van Cortlandt Village: 85-Year-Old Man Robbed & Assaulted

 

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual seen in the attached video who is sought in connection with a robbery that occurred in the 50th precinct.

 

It was reported to police that on Tuesday Oct. 19, at approximately 11.25 p.m., at a residence in the vicinity of Cannon Place in Van Cortlandt Village, an 85-year-old man was attempting to enter his home when he was approached by an unknown individual who displayed a firearm and demanded money.

 

When the victim refused the demand, the assailant kicked the victim, causing him to fall. The assailant, then, removed the victim’s wallet, containing assorted credit cards and $50, and fled in a gray, 4-door sedan, westbound, on Cannon Place. The victim suffered a minor injury to his right knee which EMS treated on scene.

 

The assailant is described as male, 20 to 30 years of age, medium-skinned, 5 feet, 9 inches tall with an athletic build and a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a Nike windbreaker and a baseball hat.
