A young woman who was reportedly kidnapped in Brooklyn on Friday, April 21, has been located, police said.
Police said that on Friday, April 21, at around 1.45 a.m. an unidentified female victim was kidnapped by an unidentified man at the intersection of Avenue W and Stillwell Avenue in the Gravesend neighborhood in the southern part of Brooklyn. They said the man placed the victim into a minivan before fleeing northbound on Stillwell Avenue. They released a photo of the car and appealed to the public for help identifying it.
The department later released additional photos of a person who they said was sought in connection with the kidnapping and appealed to the public for help identifying the kidnapper.
The victim was described by police as a woman in her twenties with a light complexion and long hair, around 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing around 120 pounds. “She was last seen wearing a striped shirt, a blue skirt, and white sneakers,” police said at the time.
The suspect was described as a man in his thirties with a light complexion and facial hair who was approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing around 175 pounds. They said he was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark pants, and black sneakers.
The vehicle was described as a late model Toyota minivan with an unknown registration.
On Monday morning, April 24, police said the man and woman seen in the attached images were both “found.” They said the incident was investigated by the NYPD Major Case Squad and “both parties were known to each other.” The incident was deemed “not to have been a crime.”
