UPDATE Williamsbridge: 26-Year-Old Man Dies following Shooting

Police have released a photo and video of a person of interest, sought for questioning following the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx.

 

As reported, on Friday, March 18, at approximately 1.31 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person at 3559 Holland Avenue in Williamsbridge. Upon arrival, officers observed a 26-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso.

 

EMS responded and transported the man to Jacobi Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The medical examiner was due to determine the cause of death and the investigation was ongoing.

 

The victim has since been identified as Stephaun Stewart, 26, of the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx.

 

On March 20, pursuant to an active investigation, the NYPD said the shooting had followed a dispute. They also asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the person of interest seen in the attached video and photograph in connection with the incident, which occurred in the 47th precinct.

 

 

The person of interest is described as female, is 17 to 20 years of age, is Black, and was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweater, black pants and white sneakers.
