Update: Video Released in Fordham Heights Murder Investigation of 28-Year-Old Man

On Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at approximately 10.55 p.m., the NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in front of 2078 Morris Avenue in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx, in the 46th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old man lying on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the chest.

 

EMS also responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The incident was deemed a homicide, there were no arrests and the investigation remained ongoing.

 

The victim was later identified as Anthony Castillo, 28. His address was initially listed as being in the vicinity of Forest Houses, Longwood and William McKinley Houses but police later confirmed that his address was at Mt. Hope Place in the Mt Hope section of the Bronx.

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, the New York City Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in identifying individuals wanted in connection with the homicide. A video of the suspects was released and is attached.
