A representative from FDNY replied, saying that firefighters were dispatched at 2.12 p.m., arrived at the scene at 2.17 p.m. and brought the fire, which the FDNY official said was on the 7th floor of a non-fireproof, multiple dwelling building, under control at 2.43 p.m. “One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to North Central Bronx hospital,” the FDNY official said.
One resident later asked if the fire alarm was working.
We followed up with the FDNY on Friday, April 8, to check if they knew the cause of the fire and they responded, saying that as it had been placed under control less than 24 hours prior to our request, they appreciated people’s patience, adding that the investigation remained ongoing.
Norwood News is continuing to follow up with the FDNY in relation to the cause of the fire.
