The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance locating and identifying the people seen in the attached photos who are sought for questioning in connection to an armed robbery and shooting that occurred in front of 1920 Osbourne Place in the University Heights section of The Bronx, and which resulted in the death of 32-year-old Johnny Gaston.
The fatal victim was found in front of 189 Burnside Avenue, also located in University Heights.

The NYPD launched a murder investigation after the 32-year-old died from gunshot wounds while another person, who was also shot during the incident, was hospitalized and is in stable condition.

An NYPD spokesperson initially reported that officers responded on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10.02 p.m. to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in front of 189 Burnside Avenue.

“Upon arrival, police discovered two individuals shot. Victim #1, a 32-year-old male, was shot in the head and removed to St Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased,” the spokesperson said.

“Victim #2, a 27-year-old male, was shot in the groin and removed to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition,” the spokesperson added. “There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.”

The deceased was later identified as Gaston, 32, from the Foxhurst section in the South Bronx.
