UPDATE University Heights: New Search for 13-Year-old Missing Girl

The NYPD has issued a new appeal seeking the public’s help in locating a 13-year-old girl, reported missing in University Heights.

 

Police first reported on Monday, Aug. 22, that Luna Elias, 13, of 2337 Andrews Avenue in The Bronx was reported missing and had last been seen that same day, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m., leaving her home. She was described as female, around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, and has black eyes and red hair. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, and black/white sneakers.

 

On Friday, Aug. 26, police issued a new report, saying Luna was missing again and this time, was last seen on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 10.05 p.m., leaving her home. She was described the second time as being around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds, of a medium build, has a light skin complexion and red hair. She was last seen wearing a pink sweater, grey pants and black shoes.

 

Police confirm she had been found following the first missing person’s alert issued last Monday, but has since been reported missing a second time.
