UPDATE Olinville: Mothers Day Residential Fire Under Control

All hands were called on Sunday afternoon, May 14, to respond to a fire on the third floor of a multiple dwelling located at 3003 Olinville Avenue in the Olinville section of the borough, just north of Parkside Housing Project.

 

An FDNY spokesperson told Norwood News that the department received the call at 2.34 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. “Members were able to determine that the fire was located in the multiple dwelling [at 3003 Olinville Avenue],” the spokesperson said.

According to the FDNY, 12 units comprising 60 firefighters were deployed in response to the fire, which officials said was placed under control at 3 p.m. The spokesperson said there were no injuries.

 

Another fire was reported on the same day in the Wakefield section of the borough, while smoke was also reported in an area close to a gas station on Jerome Avenue in Bedford Park on Sunday. We await further details of the Bedford Park incident from the FDNY.
