UPDATE Olinville: Man Arrested following Fatal Shooting of 34-Year-old on Carpenter Avenue

Police said a 22-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal shooting of a second 34-year-old man in the Olinville section of The Bronx last month.

 

Police said that on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at around 3.39 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired outside 3836 Carpenter Avenue.

 

“Upon arrival, police observed an 34-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the left side of his torso,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the male victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.”

 

The deceased has since been identified as Hector David of Carpenter Avenue, Bronx, NY.

 

On Wednesday, Jan. 10, police said that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Daniel Santos, 22, of Burke Avenue in the East Bronx was arrested the same day in the 47th Precinct. They said he was charged with murder, manslaughter, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

 

A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
