UPDATE Norwood: “Cooking Related” Fire Results in No Injuries

A residential fire in Norwood on Friday resulted in no injuries, FDNY officials said.

 

A fire department spokesperson said the FDNY received a report of a fire at 3.47 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, at 3395 Putnam Place, located between East Gun Hill Road and Reservoir Oval West in The Bronx.

Firefighters discovered there was a small fire on a 5th floor fire escape, which they said was cooking related. FDNY officials said the incident was handled with one fire engine and two fire trucks, and there were no injuries.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to FDNY officials, who added that the incident lasted 57 minutes.

The previous day, as reported, a fire at a construction site in Bedford Park resulted in no injuries according to the FDNY. Meanwhile, one man died following a three-alarm fire in Fordham Manor on Monday, Nov. 20, and the FDNY were also called to Bedford Park’s Tracey Towers housing complex on Saturday, Nov. 25, for reports of a compactor fire, which also resulted in no injuries.
