Police have confirmed that an 8-year-old girl who was reported missing on Sunday from the Norwood section of the Bronx has been found and is safe.
Users of the Citizens’ App posted on Sunday morning, Oct. 3, that police were searching for the child, described as an 8-year-old, Hispanic girl, who, prior to being found, had last been seen the same morning, wearing pink pajamas and traveling southbound on Webster Avenue.
Norwood News reached out to the NYPD for verification of the incident and for any further information on the missing girl, including a photo. In a follow-up phone call on Sunday, an NYPD representative confirmed the details of the incident posted to the Citizens’ App, and added that the child was in foster care. No photo of the girl was initially available.
However, at around 7.15 p.m. on Sunday, police confirmed that the child’s name was Madysin Camilo, 8, of Webster Avenue, and that she had last been seen on Sunday, Oct. 3, at approximately 9.30 a.m., leaving her home.
Madysin was described as being approximately 4 feet tall, weighing 80 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She had last been seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, pink pajama pants, and black/white sneakers.
