Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 36-year-old man in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx. An NYPD spokesperson said that on Tuesday, Dec. 24, (Christmas Eve) at around 11.43 a.m., police from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a person who had been stabbed in the vicinity of East Tremont Avenue and Morris Avenue.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a 36-year-old male with stab wounds to his torso, leg, and arm,” the spokesperson said. “EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.”
The deceased was identified as Arkmayer Davis of East Tremont Avenue in The Bronx.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police said Kayjon Yizar, 28, of East Tremont Avenue in The Bronx was arrested on Dec. 25 at 5 p.m. in The Bronx. They said he was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
