The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the people seen in the attached video and photos who are sought for questioning in connection to an ongoing murder investigation into the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in Mt. Hope.

 

As reported, police said that on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at around 5.21 p.m., police responded to calls regarding shots fired at 273 East 176th Street. An NYPD spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old male with gun shot wounds to the torso. The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

Police said there were no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.

 

Users of the Citizens’ App posted that the suspects involved comprised a group of men wearing black ski masks who fled westbound toward the Grand Concourse. Norwood News contacted the NYPD to corroborate the veracity of this statement.

On Feb. 17, the NYPD shared an update on the investigation, saying four male individuals had last been seen fleeing westbound on East 176^th Street and shared a photo of the four. They said they were estimated to be ranging in age from 15 to 20, and ranging in height from 5 feet, 5 inches, to 5 feet, 9 inches.
