UPDATE Morris Park: Police Launch Murder Investigation after Man is Fatally Shot

The NYPD said a man has died following a fatal shooting in Morris Park.  

 

Police said that on Sunday, June 9, at around 5.37 p.m., officers from the 49th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a male who had been shot in the vicinity of Sacket Avenue and Williamsbridge Road.

 

“Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified male who sustained gunshot wounds to the head and chest,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the location and transported the unidentified male to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Jacobi where he was pronounced deceased.”

 

Police said there are no initial arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

 

On Monday, June 10, police said the deceased was identified as Kelvin Sims, 29, from the Westchester Square section of The Bronx. More to follow.

 

Earlier on Sunday, as reported, police were seen carrying out an investigation after a deceased 66-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to the body, including one to the neck, was found in the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood.
