UPDATE Kingsbridge: Two More Arrested in Murder Case of 51-Year-Old Man, Investigation Continues

Police said two additional men have been arrested after an investigation following the discovery of a deceased 51-year-old man in Kingsbridge was classified as a murder. A 24-year-old man was already arrested on Friday, July 6, as reported.

 

The NYPD had asked for the public’s assistance identifying the individuals seen in the attached video who are sought for questioning in connection with the investigation.

 

Police officials said, “On Saturday, June 25, at approximately 06.15 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a robbery in progress in front of 130 West 230 Street, within the confines of the 50 Precinct.”

 

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 51-year-old male lying on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive, with face and head trauma. EMS transported the aided male to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Saturday, July 2, 2022,” police officials added.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said, “Three, unidentified males are observed exiting a maroon Kia Optima, bearing New Jersey plate #D19-NWB, and proceeding to the area where the aided male was standing at the time of the incident. A short time later, the same three males re-enter the vehicle and drive from the location. The vehicle was last observed on West 207 Street in Manhattan on that same day.”

The video of the individuals sought, attained from the vicinity of the incident location, is attached.

 

On Saturday, July 9, police said the incident had been classified as a homicide and identified the deceased as Pedro Rodriguez, 51, of Heath Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights.

 

Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, an NYPD spokesperson added that Nickoles Rodriguez, 24, of Tinton Avenue, located north of William McKinley Houses in the South Bronx, had been arrested on Friday at 2 p.m. in the 50th Precinct. He has been charged with murder and robbery. The investigation remains ongoing.

 

On Tuesday, July 12, the NYPD said pursuant to an ongoing investigation, two more individuals were arrested and charged on Saturday, July 9, in the 50th Precinct in connection with the incident. They were Kelvin O’Brien, 21, of Washington Avenue in the Claremont Village section of The Bronx and Yean Santiago, a 19-year-old male of East 182nd Street in Belmont. Each was charged with murder and robbery.

 

A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
