An armed robbery that initially resulted in no physical injuries, and which took place in mid-February in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx, has been reclassified by the NYPD as a homicide, after one of the victims later suffered a cardiac arrest and died.
As reported, the NYPD had been asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the people seen in some of the attached photos who they said were sought in connection with the robbery.
Police said that on Sunday, Feb. 18, at around 1.45 p.m., the victims, a 47-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, were walking in the vicinity of the Grand Concourse and East Kingsbridge Road when they were approached by two people.
“Acting in concert, the individuals displayed a knife and forcibly removed the victim’s wallets and approximately $110 in cash,” police said. “The individuals were last seen fleeing on foot westbound on East 193 Street towards Jerome Avenue.”
They said the victims were uninjured and the two people sought are described as male, each with a heavy build.
On May 15, the NYPD said shortly after the incident on Feb. 18, described above, the 47-year-old male suffered a cardiac episode and was transferred by EMS to Montefiore Medical Center in Norwood in critical condition.
