Cops have arrested a man following an appeal to the public for help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they said was sought in connection with an assault in Fordham Manor.
Police said that on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at around 2.20 p.m., a 32-year-old male victim arranged to meet another male via an app. They said when the two met in person at a private home located in the vicinity of Sedgwick Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road, one of the two stabbed the victim in the neck with a cutting instrument, causing a severe laceration.
They said the assailant then fled the location in an unknown direction. “The aided victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical but stable condition,” police said.
On Saturday, Aug. 12, police said that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, a 16-year-old unidentified male was arrested on Friday, Aug. 11, at 6.45 p.m. in the 50th Precinct and was charged with attempted murder.
A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
