The FDNY said there were no injuries arising from a residential fire that broke out on Friday evening, June 14, at a building in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx.
An FDNY spokesperson said the department was alerted to the fire at 7.49 p.m. for a fire on the first floor of a fourth-floor, residential building (50 X 100) located at 3184 Villa Avenue 3184 Villa Avenue, at East 205th Street and Van Cortlandt Avenue. They said all hands (12 units comprising 60 fightfighters) responded to the scene.
They said the fire was brought under control at 8.10 p.m. and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Upon arrival at the scene, some local residents referred us to one person who was seen inside the building speaking on a cell phone, who they seemed to indicate was directly affected by the fire. The male resident declined to be interviewed.
Norwood News also spoke to several residents and business owners in the area. While one said he saw about five fire trucks responding to the incident, most others said they were either unaware of the fire or had been busy working at the time it broke out and had no further information on it.
We reached out to the Red Cross for details on any residents who may potentially have been rehoused. Ned Klein from the Red Cross of Greater New York responded, saying in part, “After the fire on Villa Avenue on Friday night, the Red Cross responded and connected with residents who were present at the scene. At that time, all residents were able to recover independently. If any residents impacted by this fire need assistance with their recovery, they should call 877-RED CROSS (877-733-2767).”
