On Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 at around 6:37 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot inside 1486 Vyse Avenue in the 42nd precinct, in the Bronx. Upon arrival, police observed a 31-year-old man, who was unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the torso.
EMS responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. He was later identified as Dante Young, 31, of 548 East 183rd Street in the Bronx. There were no immediate arrests.
Police requested the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals who appear in the attached photo and video in connection to this incident.
The first individual was described as a male in his 20s who was last seen wearing a dark hoodie. A photo and a video of the individual, taken from the vicinity of the incident location, after the incident took place, was circulated by police.
A second person of interest was also sought for questioning in relation to the incident, and was described as a female in her 20s, who was last seen wearing a striped shirt.
On Oct. 19, police advised that, pursuant to the ongoing investigation, additional photos and video of an unidentified male wanted for questioning in regards to the homicide were obtained, and were circulated by NYPD.
On Nov. 11, police announced that Antoine Cagle, 31, of East 170th Street in the Bronx was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7.10 a.m. in the 42nd precinct.
The investigation remains ongoing.
