University Heights: Police Release Video following Fatal Shooting of 41-Year-Old Man

The NYPD has released a video following the fatal shooting of a man in the early hours of Monday morning in University Heights.

 

On Monday, Feb. 7, at approximately 00.02 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 2296 Andrews Avenue.

 

Upon arrival, police observed a 41-year-old man lying on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his head. EMS also responded and pronounced the man deceased on the scene. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

 

The victim has since been identified as Anthony Savarese, 41, of Noble Avenue in the Van Nest / Parkchester vicinity.

 

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, the NYPD asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual seen in the attached surveillance video who is sought for questioning in connection to the investigation, which has been classified a homicide.

The individual is described as male, has a medium complexion, is in his mid 30s, and was last seen wearing all black clothing. The attached surveillance video was obtained from the incident location.
