University Heights: Person Sought for Attempted Assault

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who the department says is sought for questioning in connection to an attempted assault that occurred in University Heights.

 

Police said it was reported to them that on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at approximately 10.22 p.m., three male individuals approached a large group of people in front of 2065 Jerome Avenue, two displayed guns and fired several rounds, striking a 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old man. “The two victims were taken to area hospitals and treated for gunshot wounds to the ankle,” a police spokesperson said.

 

Upon further investigation, police said the three male suspects were arrested and charged on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

During the incident, police said an additional, unidentified male individual in the crowd displayed a gun and also fired rounds at the three shooters. “There were no reported injuries or property damage as a result of the return gun fire,” police said. “The individual fled on a scooter westbound on Loring Place.”
