University Heights: One Sought for Armed Robbery of Store Using Machete

THE NYPD IS asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in this photo who they say is wanted for questioning in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in a store at 51 West 183rd Street in the University Heights section of The Bronx.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted for questioning in connection to a robbery that occurred in University Heights.

Police said that on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at around 10 a.m. inside a business (deli) located at 51 West 183rd Street, an unidentified person displayed a machete and demanded goods from the employee. They said the suspect stole store merchandise and then fled on foot to parts unknown. They said there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Police said the person sought is described as male, has a light complexion, is around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs 150 pounds. They said he was last seen wearing a black hat, a multi-colored sweatshirt, black pants, and grey sneakers.
