An affordable housing lottery has launched for units at 65 Buchanan Place, a seven-story, mixed-use building in the University Heights section of the Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.
Designed by Asher Hershkowitz Architect, and developed by Craig Nassi of BCN Development, the structure yields 23 residential units. Available on NYC Housing Connect, NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development’s housing portal, are seven units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $60,515 to $139,620.
Amenities include a shared laundry room and a virtual doorman. Units come with name-brand appliances and finishes, air conditioning, energy-efficient appliances, and either a patio or balcony. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are seven one-bedroom units with a monthly rental payment of $1,765 available for residents whose incomes range from $60,515 to $139,620.
To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: 65 Buchanan Place C/O Reside New York, 349 Keap Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. Tenants are responsible for electricity (includes stove, heat and hot water). Applications can also be made online at NYC Housing Connect.
According to NYC Housing Connect, prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments, and applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Nov. 1, 2021.
