An affordable housing lottery for units at 1982 University Avenue in the University Heights section of The Bronx closes on Monday, Oct. 2, according to NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD).
According to information published on NYC Housing Connect, HPD’s online portal, this project consists of 10 existing Bronx pre-war buildings, all walk-up buildings (no elevator) which feature larger living space than the typical new building, with wide rooms and plentiful closet space.
According to HPD, each unit has gone through extensive renovation, including new cabinets, hardwood floors and new appliances. The tenant is responsible for electricity and cooking gas, HPD officials said, and heat and hot water are included.
According to HPD, this building was rehabilitated through HPD’s low-income housing tax credit year 15 program.
