The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) is currently home to an exciting light exhibit based on Tim Burton’s 1993 musical film, “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Fans of the movie can now visit the new “Light Trail” exhibit which opened to the public on Friday, Sept. 27.
The Trail features over 8,300 feet of light installations, interactive video projection, intelligent LED lighting, and 3D printed sculptures of the film’s iconic characters like Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero.
Jeffrey Seller, co-producer of Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail,” said at the launch, “I feel like tonight is the beginning of my birthday party.”
Iñaki Fernandez, LETSGO founder and creator of Burton’s “Labyrinth,” said of the exhibit, “We are very excited! You will be immersed with amazing effects. You will see video projection on the trees.”
The light experience runs for nine weeks, concluding on Saturday, Nov. 30. The Light Trail is created by Adventurelive, the producing team behind Broadway’s “Hamilton” and LETSGO, the Madrid-based creative team behind Burton’s “Labyrinth” and “Lights in Nature.”
