The three Democratic candidates vying to replace term-limited 11th District Councilman Oliver Koppell have all confirmed their participation in a debate on Thursday night, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sister Annunciata Bethel Senior Center (also known as the Bedford Park Senior Center), 243 E. 204th St.
The candidates include Cheryl Keeling, Cliff Stanton and Andrew Cohen.
The 11th Council District includes the neighborhoods of Norwood, Bedford Park, Woodlawn, Wakefield, Kingsbridge, Kingsbridge Heights and Riverdale.
Find out what the candidates stand for and how they would represent you in city government. Ask them the questions you want answered.
Everyone is invited to attend, but campaign signs and materials will not be permitted inside. Also, those wearing campaign-specific t-shirts will be limited to 20 people per candidate. If you’re a supporter of one of the candidates, please keep your campaign-related gear at home.
The Norwood News will be moderating the debate, but we want to hear from you about what questions you want the candidates answering. You can email us your questions at norwoodnews@norwoodnews.org, Tweet us questions to @norwoodnews or post questions on our Facebook page. We’ll also be accepting written questions submitted during the debate.
Last night, the three candidates debated on BronxTalk. We’ll try to embed the show on Breaking Bronx when it’s available. In any case, the candidates should be warmed up and ready to go Thursday night.
In the next two days, we’ll do our best to familiarize you with each of the candidates and provide all the latest from the campaign trail, so stay tuned.
