The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the individual seen in the attached photos who is wanted for questioning in connection with an assault that occurred in the 52nd precinct. On Friday, Jan. 8, 2020 at approximately 2.55 p.m. in front of 2301 Jerome Avenue (Family Dollar store) in the University Heights section of the Bronx, the suspect approached a 48-year-old man from behind and stabbed the victim in the upper back. Police have arrested a man on murder charges in connection with a shooting that occurred in University Heights on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020. On the date in question, at 8.50 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in progress in the vicinity of West 184th Street and Aqueduct Avenue in the University Heights section of the Bronx, in the 52nd precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 26-year-old man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his chest and neck. EMS responded and transported the man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

A pair of NYPD divers recovered the body of a man who was discovered floating in a murky section of the East River in University Heights on Monday, Nov. 23. Following reports on Sept. 18 of the defacing of a mural painted in support of Black trans lives on 204th Street and Perry Avenue in the Norwood section of the Bronx, reaction from allies and various public officials was swift.
