University Heights: Murder Investigation Opens as Man Dies following Knife Attack

A 28-year-old man has died following a knife attack in University Heights, prompting a murder investigation.   On Friday, Sept. 10, at approximately 5.30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been stabbed near the corner of West 183rd Street and Sedgwick Avenue, in University Heights.   Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old man with stab wounds to the neck and torso. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. On Friday, Sept. 17, the victim was pronounced deceased.
