A 75-year-old male pedestrian remains in critical condition after he was run down by a turning vehicle as he was crossing a Kingsbridge Heights street. The alleged driver, who was seen sporting house slippers as he stepped out of his vehicle at the scene of the accident, was later arrested and faces multiple charges. Police officials say the incident was reported at 2:59 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, when the victim was hit as he crossed West Kingsbridge Road at Bailey Avenue. Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man in Wakefield. An NYPD spokesperson said, “On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at approximately 22.46 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 686 East 234 Street, within the confines of the 47 Precinct.” The official added, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 31-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the torso.” EMS reportedly responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Police officials said there are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

A murder investigation is underway following the fatal shooting of a 62-year-old man in Belmont. The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached video who is sought in connection to an assault that occurred in University Heights. It was reported to police that on Sunday, May 22, at approximately 10.25 p.m., in front of 1995 Sedgwick Avenue, an unidentified individual allegedly stabbed a 59-year-old man in the head and torso with an unknown object, in an unprovoked attack.
