A 22-year-old man from Fordham Heights died after he was fatally shot in the Belmont section of The Bronx, according to the NYPD. Police said that on Monday, Feb. 13, at around 6.57 p.m., officers from the 48th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot inside 689 East 187th Street. An NYPD spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 22-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. A 37-year-old male resident of Fordham Manor has been identified as one of two fatal victims involved in last weekend’s multiple shooting incident in the Tremont section of The Bronx, according to the NYPD. The NYPD said a 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a multiple shooting incident that occurred in University Heights in May 2022 in which a 28-year-old man was shot. Charges have been announced following the arrest of an unnamed 16-year-old male following a police-involved shooting in Belmont, police said.
