Police have arrested two people following the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old young man and the wounding of a second 19-year-old male youth during an apparent drive-by shooting following a Fourth of July street celebration in Fordham Heights. As reported, police said that on Wednesday, July 5, at around 2.21 a.m., officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding two young men who had been shot at 2256 Morris Avenue. “Upon arrival officers observed an 18-year-old male with a gun shot wound to the leg and 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the hip,”

A 74-year-old female pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Bedford Park on Thursday, police said. Police said the accident took place at 9.31 a.m. at Bainbridge Avenue and East Mosholu Parkway South. Norwood: Two Injured in Motorcycle/Car Collision
A 23-year-old motorcycle driver remains in serious condition and his 23-year-old female passenger was in stable condition after an early morning collision at Jerome Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood. Police say the crash took place at 7:17 a.m. on Monday, June 26, after a 31-year-old man driving a 2003 Toyota attempted to make a U-turn and collided with the motorcycle which was traveling southbound at the time. A 62-year-old man has been hospitalized following a daylight shooting in Fordham Heights on Friday, June 16. An NYPD spokesperson said, “At 16.50 hours, at 2386 Ryer Avenue, a male…he was shot once in the knee.” The address is the location of Ryer Housing Development, and is located between East 187th Street and East 184th, one block from the Grand Concourse, according to Google Maps.
