Police have made an arrest following the fatal shooting in July of 13-year-old Jaryan Elliot in Belmont. After several days of rain, and several weeks after the lifting of COVID-19 movement restrictions, hundreds of residents had gathered at one end of Belmont to watch the final of a European soccer tournament, while at the other end of the neighborhood, another large crowd watched, in horror, the aftermath of a shooting that took the life of the Belmont teen. Police responded to a 911 call regarding a person who had been shot in front of 743 East 187th Street in Belmont, in the 48th precinct, on Sunday, July 11, at approximately 3.18 p.m. Upon arrival, police observed a 13-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his chest and leg. EMS also responded and transported the youth to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person seen in the attached video and photos who is wanted in connection to an assault that occurred in Fordham Manor, in the 52nd precinct. A 29-year-old woman has died following as shooting in Fordham Manor. On Wednesday, June 16, at around 11.24 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at East 194th Street and Marion Avenue, in the 52nd precinct. Police have arrested a man for a suspected fatal shooting that was the second such killing in Pelham Bay in less than three months. On Monday, June 14, police announced the arrest of Luis Rivera, 18, of 2004 Ellis Avenue in Parkchester, who was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person seen in the attached video who is wanted for questioning in connection to a reckless endangerment incident that occurred in the 52nd precinct. On Saturday, June 12, at approximately 2.35 a.m., the person approached an 18-year-old male victim and a 17-year-old male victim as they sat in a parked vehicle in front of 2835 Grand Concourse, in Bedford Park.
