A 28-year-old man has died following a shooting at Edenwald Houses in the Edenwald section of the Bronx. Police responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting which occurred in front of 1137 East 229 Drive South in the 47th Precinct/Police Service Area 8 on Friday, Sept. 3, at approximately 8.38 p.m. Upon arrival, officers observed the 28-year-old with a gunshot wound to his chest. Bronx homicide detectives are working overtime this weekend after at least five people were shot, three fatally, in less than 24-hours. According to the NYPD, and as reported, the first incident was reported at 4:09 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, when officers from the 52nd precinct responded to a report of an assault inside 2550 Bainbridge Avenue. Police are looking for a gunman who fired several shots on Decatur Avenue in Bedford Park, apparently striking the front window of an apartment building.
