Belmont: Man Charged in Killing of Fordham Heights Man also Charged in University Heights Fatal Shooting

Police said a 26-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal shooting in the Belmont section of The Bronx of 22-year-old Miguel Vargas from Fordham Heights in mid-February.   As reported, police said that on Monday, Feb. 13, at around 6.57 p.m., officers from the 48th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot inside 689 East 187th Street in Belmont.   An NYPD spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 22-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. UPDATE Crotona: 24-Year-Old Man Dies following Fatal Shooting

A 24-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting in the Crotona section of The Bronx.   Police said that on Saturday, May 6, at approximately 4.30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 4371 Third Avenue, just south of the Belmont border. “Upon arrival, officers determined that a 29-year-old male was shot in the chest at the location and was transported via private means to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased,” a police spokesperson said.   “A firearm was recovered. Bedford Park: Local Man Charged in Valentine Avenue Shooting
