Norwood Man Gets 40 Years to Life for Fatal Shooting of Bodega Clerk & Wounding of Bodega Owner
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Jan. 6 that a Bronx man from Norwood was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder and additional charges for fatally shooting a bodega clerk and wounding the store’s owner in the Mount Eden section of The Bronx in 2021.

UPDATE Gun Hill Section: Six People including Mother Used as Human Shield & Daughter Shot in White Plains Road Store
The NYPD has released photo and video of two unidentified gunmen sought for questioning in connection to the shooting of six people, including a 40-year-old mother who was used as a human shield, and her 12-year-old daughter, inside a White Plains Road convenience store in the Olinville section of The Bronx on Monday evening, Dec. 30. They said the two “opened fire in the middle of the street” and continued shooting inside the small “crowded convenience store” injuring all six people in the process.
Fordham Manor: Man Arrested in Subway Station with Machine Gun Living in Daycare Building?
After police officers scuffled with two trespassers inside Fordham Manor’s Kingsbridge Road Subway Station, which serves the D train on Election Day, Nov. 5, a concealed AR-15-style assault weapon fell to the ground, as reported. Court records show one of the men has since been released without bail and the NYPD said he lives in a three-story building in the Van Nest section of The Bronx that also houses a children’s daycare on the first floor.
