MTA Announces Universal Subway Wireless Connectivity Plan

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) recently announced a public-private partnership to provide cell coverage throughout all 418 track miles of subway tunnels, along with an expansion of Wi-Fi service to all 191 above-ground subway and 21 Staten Island Railway stations.   Transit customers can currently use cellular and Wi-Fi service at all 281 underground subway stations through Transit Wireless, a BAI communications company. West Farms: Bus Driver Critical & 12 Passengers Injured after Bx12 Bus Hits Elevated Subway Structure

Norwood-205th Street Subway Station Serving the D Line Gets Much-Needed Power Wash

Bridge lift testing at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge Manhattan span is scheduled for the early hours of Friday, May. 6, according to the MTA.   Intermittent Closures Planned for Both Directions Intermittent, full closures at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River lift span to and from Manhattan are scheduled for Friday, May 6, from midnight to 5 a.m. for bridge lifts to test mechanical functionality and allow routine preventative maintenance.   Each closure will last approximately 20 minutes. Man Arrested following Assault on 79-Year-Old Bus Passenger
